Art Erotica Exhibition: Winner of the visitors' choice award
A week after the inaugural Art Erotica Exhibition ended, the organiser of the event, Kathryn Roberts, announced on their website that my portrait of the deliciously sexy Ms Ruby May had also won the Visitors' Choice award of £500.
Many thanks to all those who voted for my painting. It serves as great encouragement to continue painting my erotic portaits of women. You can still buy the exhibition posters directly from the Art Erotica website (click on the image above).
Here are some reviews of the show. Looking forward to attending next year's event!

Art in Action - photos
Here are a few photos taken during the 4 day Art in Action event held at Waterperry House in Oxfordshire. It was a terrifically fun event, though exhausting! Thank you to everyone who was there to help and support me. I could not have done it without you.
Latest drawings added to portfolio gallery
I have been working on a number of new "Flesh" drawings for the upcoming Art in Action show. You can find photographs of them in the portfolio gallery. These drawings are again charcoal, but on a different surface. I have been experimenting with tissue paper on handmade paper. The two together lend an interesting finish to the drawings.
Announcing the new website
Today I can present my new website. It has been under construction for a number of weeks. I've changed the design, added some more galleries and blog posts and will be keeping it up to date with all things relating to my artwork. Details of upcoming exhibitions, photos of events and new artwork will be posted here.
You can now also sign the guest book, leave comments and contact me easily. Hope it is a more interesting and enjoyable experience than the last one :-)
My first German exhibition - Art fair at the Frauenmuseum
I've just been selected to exhibit at the 19th Art Fair at the Frauenmuseum in Bonn this November. The three day event (20 - 22 November) brings together 60 female artists and gallerists to exhibit at the museum. I'll be posting more information as and when I have it, but watch this space ;-)
Art in Action - a short film clip
Here is a short video about the annual Art in Action event. I am very much looking forward to participating this year. It looks like a lot of fun.
Art in Action Leaflet for July 2009
I will be demonstrating in the drawing tent at Art in Action this year. This annual event takes place just outside of Oxford, bringing together artists from all disciplines. I will be showing my latest "Flesh" work and demonstrating my drawing practice over the four day event (16 - 19 July).
Further details of the event can be found on their website or in the attached leaflet.
Florentine sabbatical
I've been in Florence for the last six months, studying at the Charles H. Cecil Studios. The studio teaches a sight-size approach to drawing and painting from life. My work focused mainly on portraiture with some figure study. Photos of some of this work can be found in the gallery. Much of it remains unfinished, perhaps to be resumed one day.
Private view at the Hepsibah Gallery
The private view went off with a bang and plenty of champagne. Here you will find some photographs documenting the evening.
